BICHOLIM - The Chief Minister, Mr Digambar Kamat has said that the government intends to achieve all-round development of both urban and rural parts of the state. He also said that the government is making all-out efforts to enrich the traditional and cultural heritage of the state by giving boost to the artistes.
Mr Kamat was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of the 3-day long Bhatgram Mahotsav being organised by the Bicholim Bhachav Abhiyan at Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Maidan, Bicholim.
Mr Kamat lit the lamp in the presence of the distinguished guests to mark the inauguration of the Mahotsav. The director of Dempo Group of Companies, Mr Vishwasrao Dempo, Water Resources Minister, Mr Filipe Neri Rodrigues, Fr Ubaldo, president of Bhatgram Mahotsav Samiti, Mr Naresh Sawal, secretary, Mr Naresh Kadkade were present on the dais.
The Water Resources Minister, Mr Neri said that the platform would give an opportunity to various artistes of all religions and help in strengthening secularism. The president of Mahotsav Samiti, Mr Naresh Sawal welcomed the gathering; secretary, Mr Naresh Kadkade proposed the vote of thanks and Mr Ramkrishna Garde compered the function.
The Mahotsav will conclude on Sunday. The Health Minister, Mr Vishwajeet Rane will be the chief guest at the concluding ceremony. Various cultural, music and other programmes will also be held, informed Mr Naresh Sawal.
