PANAJI- At least nine students studying in the middle section of the People's High School, Panaji and two teachers of the institution suffered nausea and vomited on Wednesday morning due to the stench emanating from huge load of garbage dumped across the school at Patto by the Corporation of the City of Panaji. The students sickened early in the morning after the classes began. Nine students, including son of the CCP councillor, Mr Avinash Bhonsle and two teachers from the school, started feeling sick by the foul smell. Some of the students were taken home by their parents.

PANAJI- The efforts of the Entertainment Society of Goa to reduce the budget for various entertainment programmes to be held around the state, during the International Film Festival of India 2008 may have been quite successful. However, the alleged misappropriation of funds by some members of the cultural programme committee for IFFI 2008 has turned this success irrelevant.
