Two caught red-handed

PANAJI - The police arrested two persons from Delhi for attempting to commit theft at a flat at Caranzalem on Monday afternoon, informed police inspector, Mr Francis Corte.According to the police inspector, Ms Priti Lawande, staying at Dwarka building came to her flat at around 1 p.m. and tried to open the flat. Upon discovering that it is locked from inside, she peeped through the keyhole and found the shadow of a person inside. When she broke open the lock she was surprised to find two persons inside.
When the door was opened, one managed to slip away while the other hid inside. She raised the alarm and the people in the building caught both of them and beat them up before handing them over to the police.
The police disclosed their names as Rashid Rauf and Kashif Ali and said that they had come from Delhi by air on Sunday and had checked in a city hotel and had also done their verification. Further investigation is in progress.
