14 tiatrists bag Dr Jack De Sequeira award

PANAJI - Konkani Songit Somajik Kala Kendr, Taleigao conferred 14 tiatrists and other personalities with the Dr Jack De Sequeira award, father of Opinion Poll, at a ceremony held at Gomantak Vidhya Niketan Hall, Margao recently.
PWD Minister, Mr Churchill Alemao was the chief guest for the function while Mr Anthony D’ Souza, Trio King Member was the guest of honour. Also present on the occasion were Mr Irinueo Gonsalves, chairman, Mr Peter Figueiredo and KSSKK president, Mr Santan Viegas.
Roshan bagged best actress award while best actor award went to Salu de Loutolim. Osvi Viegas received best child artist award for her emotional role of a daughter in Mummy - Cibal Cabral.
Peter de Benaulim received best composer award for performing last 50 years as an artist and a singer. Best singer award was given to Marcus Vaz while best musician went to Norman Cardozo.
Tiatr of the year was bagged by director, Agostian for drama “Police”. Team of the year 2007-08 award was given to Dempo Sport Club. Best singer was given to Livia D’Silva. Wilmix and Sharon bagged best duet award while Tony Gonsalves from Divar received award for promoting Goan culture in United Kingdom. Best writer award was given to John Claro Fernandes.
