VASCO - Jaunpur MP, Mr Parasnath Yadav, who was recently in Goa was highly impressed by way of living of the people of Goa. He appealed to the people to preserve the state’s unique identity, which is admired across the globe.
Mr Yadav was addressing people from Uttar Pradesh community at a dinner hosted by the Uttar Bhartiya Goa Rahivashi Sangh in Vasco. He assured the Uttar Bharatiya Goa Rahivasi Sangh (UBGRS) of making utmost efforts to see that the Vasco-Patna train is extended to Allahabad by taking it up with the Union Minister for Railways, Mr Lalu Prasad Yadav and other concerned officials of the Ministry. He said that this will help the people of Eastern Uttar Pradesh, settled in Goa and Konkan region, to travel to their native places.
Mr Yadav praised the Railway Minister for fulfilling the promise made to the UBGRS by starting the Vasco-Patna train, but lamented the fact that the train does not have any stop in UP except at Mugalsarai, adding it was surprising that the railway officials ignored the major junction of Allahabad, which is barely 15 kilometers away from Chhiuki Station from where the train takes a turn to go to the Patna junction. The turn would have helped majority of the people from UP settled in Goa, he added.
