CCTV cameras: police register cheating case

PANAJI- The police have registered a case against Mr Manoj Modi, the proprietor of M/s Applied System, Mumbai, under Sections 418 and 420 of Indian Penal Code for allegedly cheating the police department to the tune of Rs 67 lakh by not supplying CCTV cameras.
According to the police inspector, Ms Sunita Sawant, who is investigating the case, the firm was assigned the order to supply CCTV cameras to all the 25 police stations.
This was as per the specification given in the tender order with terms and conditions, on December 30, 2005. But the cameras have not been supplied till date, despite giving sufficient time.
Thus the firm cheated the police department to the tune of Rs 67 lakh and a complaint has been filed against Mr Modi.
