PANAJI - The spokesperson of Utt Goenkara and activist, Mr Aires Rodrigues, on Monday morning, submitted a letter to the Governor, Mr S S Siddhu, elaborating on the assault on himself and the circumstances in which the assault had taken place.
Mr Rodrigues has held the Education Minister, Mr Atanacio Monserrate responsible for the assault on him. He has charged the Chief Minister, Mr Digambar Kamat with giving nod for the assault and sought his dismissal.
He has further said that Mr Digambar Kamat should be made co-accused in the assault and be sent for brain mapping to confirm that the chief minister did in fact gave his blessings to carry out the assault and added that a person with criminal intent has no right to continue as a chief minister of the state.
Mr Rodrigues also submitted a copy of the letter to the Governor, which the mother of the minor German girl has submitted to the SP north.
“Since the day I have filed the complain on October 14 life has become living hell for both me and my daughter. There are allegations and counter allegations in the media and we have now realized that we have been trapped in a situation not in our interest. We are also scared of being ‘Scarlet II,’” the mother has stated in the letter.
“We are spending sleepless nights and we are in depression and shocked and we are scared of the consequences of proceeding with the complaint. The murderous assault on our lawyer continues to play on our minds,” she has said.
“We have learnt the bitter truth, that making genuine complaints against the rich and mighty is entirely counter-productive. We are constantly hounded, our names sullied, campaigns organised against us, and all sorts of motives attributed to us.’’
“Goa was such a nice place to live in. But now it is a living hell. Our lives are destroyed. My minor daughter got into bad company and has to suffer the scars all her life. We can take it no longer. Its time for us to call it quit,’’ she has mentioned adding: ``In these circumstances, we do not wish to proceed with the complaint which may be treated as closed.’’
Mr Rodrigues has said that the Governor has assured that nobody would be spared however high and mighty he may be.
