I am ready to sacrifice my life for Goa: Aires

PONDA- A couple of politicians should be wiped off from the Goa’s  political scenario, in order to cleanse the politics in the state, said Mr Aires Rodrigues, here in Ponda during a meeting organised to express support to him to fight for justice.
Mr Rodrigues was attacked by some goons on October 13 at a Panaji hotel. Several leaders, cutting across party lines were present at the meeting to express their views and condemned the attack on the social activists.
“I am ready to sacrifice my life for Goa and to fight for justice,’’ Mr Rodrigues said. Over this statement he received a tremendous applause from 400- odd people this evening at the Ponda old bus stand. “It was the Almighty God’s protection that saved me from the clutches of seven terrorists who were armed with  pickaxe, swords and  other equipments,’’ noted Mr Rodrigues. Explaining the incident of attack on him on October 13, he said that even police and few ministers were behind him to take back the  cases and  complaints filed against Mr Babush Monserrate.
“But I am sure and can say with confidence that it was the plan of Babush and therefore I accused him. Those who were arrested have confessed to the plan and told the police the details,’’ he said.
Mr Lavu Mamlekar, the former deputy superintendent of police, said in his speech that law and order is crumbling in the state.  He further said that Mega, a newly formed NGO of Ponda, would also fight for the problems of Ponda and condemned the attack on Mr Rodrigues and others. Mr Viswas Satarkar, a former BJP MLA, expressed his laments over the recent rape cases in the state. He also accused the police for the lawlessness in the state.
Others who spoke on the occasion included, Mr  Damu Naik, Shiv Sena  member, Dr  Dattaram  Naik , Mr Mohan Amshekar, Mr Sunil Desai, Mr Soiru  Varde and  Mr Narendra  Savoikar
Mr Savoikar had organised the meet to condemn the attack on Mr Rodrigues and Mr Prajal Sakhardande.
