PANAJI- An NGO, the Green Goa Foundation, on Thursday filed a complaint with the Panaji town police alleging that the son of the Home Minister, Mr Ravi Naik was linked to the killing of a British girl and the death of another Britisher, Stephen Bennett citing a news report that appeared in a British newspaper being published from London and made allegations of rape and murder against the state’s Home Minister’s son.
Referring to an Internet site http://www.uepengland.com, the complainant stated that the report contained there clearly stated that Mr Roy Naik was implicated in the two cases of murder including a rape.
Mr Anwar Shaikh, the vice chairman of the NGO told the media that the said incident had brought disrepute to the state and an impression has been created in the minds of international community that criminals were being protected by the state machinery.
He also alleged that the report clearly mentions that private investigators have collected evidence implicating Mr Roy Naik and blamed his father for protecting his son as he was holding the home
portfolio.
He argued that this had brought disrepute to the fair image of Goa and Goans and urged the police to register the case and investigations be concluded speedily.
