Pissud-Nakat tops KA Tiatr Contest

PANAJI- The results of the 34th Tiatr Competition organized by Kala Academy have been declared and accordingly Pissud-Nakat staged by Britona Dramatic Academy, Penha-da-France bagged the first prize for their performance. The competition was judged by Mr Premanand Lotlikar, Mr Connie D’Silva and Mr Caitan Pereira who gave their detailed results after evaluating the performances staged in the competition.
The detailed results are as follows
Best Tiatr: ‘Pissud-Nakat’ tiatr staged by Britona Dramatic Academy, Penha-da-France bagged the first prize for their performance at the 34th Tiatr Competition organised by Kala Academy held from September 9 to October 7, 2008 at the Dinanath Mangeshkar Kala Mandir, Panaji with the participation of 13 tiatr groups.
As per the detailed results, Pull’llam staged by Alfi Art Productions, Divar has been adjudged for the second prize, whereas Dev Ani Dhorm staged by Our Lady of Remedios Chapel Association, Ribandar has been selected for the third prize. The consolation prize has been awarded to Pavsa ... Assor Kor staged by Vaddy Sports Club, Merces.
Best Direction : The first prize for direction was given to Shirish Naik for Pissud-Nakat, whereas the second prize has been awarded to Alfredo Fernandes for Pull’llam. The third prize was awarded to Seby Fernandes for Dev Ani Dhorm.
Best actor: The first prize for acting (male) has been given to Derrick D’Mello (Vincent) – Pissud-Nakat and Tulshidas Faterpekar (Basappa) - Pavsa ... Assor Kor, has been selected for the second prize. The first prize for acting (female) has been given to Rita Fernandes (Milan) Dev Ani Dhorm and the second prize has been awarded to Lorraine Dias (Lucy) Pull’llam. The merit certificates for acting (male) have been given to Tushar Mandrekar (Pravin) - Pissud-Nakat, Francisco Gonsalves (Ryan) - Divo, Amardeep Madkaikar (Kaxinath) - Dev Ani Dhorm, Dnyaneshwar Morajkar (Put’tuswamy) - Mhonvall Vikh, Alexinho Fernandes (Kashinath) - Axea and Ignitious Felizardo (Raja) - Eka Goenkaracho Xevott. Merit certificates for acting (female) have been awarded to Gemma Fernandes (Gloria) - Pissud-Nakat, Jenny Fernandes (Prisca) - Pissud-Nakat, Nancy Gomes (Clara)- Khon Guneanvkar, Agnes D’Silva (Nancy) - Pull’llam, Vinia Pilar (Sandra) - Rinnkari, Gloria D’Souza (Sheena) - Divo and Fatima D’Silva (Mellta) - Axea.
Best Comedian: Christopher Menezes (Taxi) - Pull’llam has been adjudged as the best comedian. The merit certificates for comedian have been given to Kenny Fernandes (Cipru) - Axea, Sally Mascarenhas (Sallu) - Eka Goenkaracho Xevott, Mathew D’Souza (Ruzar)- Pavsa ... Assor Kor and Angelia Dias (Meenakshi) - Pavsa ... Assor Kor.
Best Child artiste: The prize for best child artiste (male) has been given to Master Brian Fernandes (Brian) Dev Ani Dhorm, whereas the merit certificate has been awarded to Master Frazer Fernandes (Frazer) - Axea. The prize for best child artiste (female) as well as the merit certificates in the said category have not been awarded.

Best Singers: Nazario Pinto (Somaz Novo Komia) - Hem Oxech Choltolem? and Justin Fernandes (Zominn) - Mhonvall Vikh (Kala Bharati, Murgao) have been selected for first and second prize respectively for singing (male solo). The merit certificates in this category have been given to Divino Almeida (Chuhk Olkhon Ghevia) - Mhonvall Vikh (Kala Bharati, Murgao), Victor Fernandes (Ghatki Moron) - Khon Guneanvkar, Agnelo Vaz (povitr Zageak Mann) - Khon Guneanvkar, Camilo Rodrigues (Posko) - Rinnkari and Ignitious Felizardo (Resperachea Disa) - Eka Goenkaracho Xevott. Best child singer: Maythan Barreto (Mai-Paik Sodhtam) - Dev Ani Dhorm, has been adjudged as the best child singer (male solo), whereas the merit certificate in this category has been given to Frazer Fernandes (Tivik Bhultaum) - Axea. Shenaya Pereira (Adlea Tempar) - PissudNakat has been adjudged as the best child singer in the female solo category. The merit certificate has been given to Claniffa Almeida (Mog Xamaicho) - Mhonvall Vikh (Kala Bharati, Murgao).

Peter Camilo (Pariavaran) - Pissud-Nakat, has been given the prize for Best Lyrics and the merit certificate has been given to Socorro Fernandes (Oso Amcho Des) - Mhonvall Vikh (Kala Mogi, Candolim).
Carmina Fernandes - Dev Ani Dhorm, has been selected for the first prize for Script Writing and the second prize in this category has been given to Alfredo Fernandes Pull’llam.
The entire show in the competition was witnessed by capacity audience. Kala Academy has congratulated all the prize winners. The date for the prize distribution function will be declared at a later stage.
