Vidula, Ritviz emerge champs

PANAJI- Vidula Dempo emerged champ at 1st all Goa Primary School Chess Tournament, organised by Panjim Chess Academy in collaboration with Club Nacional, Panaji, on October 4 and 5. Overall the tourney saw 98 participants, including 3 Fide-rated players.
The tournament was conducted in two groups.
Vidula Dempo of Panjim Chess Academy from Sharda Mandir School topped group one category held for participants from class two to three, while Rajaryan Kuvelkar and Nitish Belurkar jointly shared second place. The consolation prizes were bagged by Stanford Periera, Tushar Kalai, Riddi Zantye, Pranali Dessai, Musale Ahishek, Eeshan Gad, Sakhsi Gaunkar, Nitya Kamat.
In group two category for standard three and four participants saw Ritviz Parab of Vidhya Vikas stand first while Rushub Naik of Mahila Nutan and Kapil Pawase of Saraswat High School secured second and third places, respectively.
Tatvesh Sawant, Josiah Rebello, Throat Ashwariya, Sakshi Prabhu, Anirudh Bhat, Rohan Ahuja, Sonali Kerker, Apurva Naik took away consolation prizes.
