CCP constitutes Enforcement Squad

PANAJI - With an objective to maintain public hygiene, sanitation and cleanliness in the capital city, the Corporation of the City of Panaji, following the directions of the Panaji Bench of the Bombay High Court, has constituted an Enforcement Squad consisting five CCP staff members.
The city Mayor, Mr Tony Rodrigues informed ‘The Navhind Times’, Friday evening that the Squad would be assisted by the police personnel and would be reporting to the municipal engineer, Mr Sachin Ambe.
The Squad will ensure that no person urinates or defecates openly in any part of the city, besides sleeping, loitering, squatting, spitting, smoking or performing any act resembling nuisance in the public places like garden, footpath, roadside, beach, bus stand, etc, he informed. The Squad members - two municipal inspectors and three workers - will be performing duty from 6 a.m to 10 a.m and from 6 p.m to 10 p.m.
Meanwhile, the CCP has informed the members of the public to contact the Enforcement Squad constituted by it - either in person or over telephone - in case they wish to lodge a complaint against any public nuisance.
