AHMEDABAD- To harness the renewable energy to generate power, Astonfield Renewable Resources Limited (ARRL) signed an MoU with Gujarat government for executing a mega 200 MW solar PV project in the state. The 200 MW project is the largest renewable energy project so far in India. With the addition of the 200 MW solar PV allotment in Gujarat, ARRL currently has over 300 MWs in their project portfolio.
Astonfield Group Co-Chairman Ameet Shah and ARRL President (India Operations) Ravinder Raina inked the deal on behalf of their companies at the concluding day of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit here today.
“Gujarat will be a top priority on our build schedule. We are keen to take on from there and begin on our pan India projects without delay,” Mr Raina, a seasoned global executive with 30 years of experience in the power industry, informed. They would also address the need to educate the Indian populous about renewable energy, and what it can do for economic growth, pollution control, as well as electrifying more locales, Mr Shah added. ARRL was founded around the concept of developing and providing world-class renewable energy solutions to growing nations to bring these economies under a public-private partnership structure.
In addition to solar PV, ARRL is also developing renewable energy plants using biomass and municipal solid waste-to-energy technologies. ARRL has project allotments and/or active business development operations in eight different states in India, Mr Shah added.
“ARRL is greatly enthused to begin work in Gujarat with such a significant allotment. In the future, we will look to Gujarat to be a leader and steadfast partner in promoting the renewable energy story in India.”ARRL Co-Chairman Sourabh Sen said. Astonfield has also formed relationships with top-tier engineering, finance, and project partners to implement the world-class projects.
