Passenger dies of heart attack at Dabolim airport

VASCO- In a tragic incident a 73-year-old man, who travelled to Goa from Mumbai, died on his arrival at Dabolim airport following a massive heart attack, Thursday afternoon.
According to available information, the deceased is identified as Oswal D’Costa, who had arrived at Dabolim airport along with his wife.
The sources informed that the deceased had come from Mumbai by a Jet Airways flight at around 3:34 p.m.
However, after departing from the airport terminus, he went to the taxi counter where he felt giddiness. He thereafter consumed some medicine, but within few seconds collapsed on the ground.
Due to the outbreak of swine flu, the people who had witnessed the incident at the airport terminus were confused.    
The airport manager, Mr Anil Thakur on receiving the news, immediately intimated to the 108 Ambulance and rushed to the site were the passenger had collapsed. A Vasco based physician, Dr Anil Mahindratta, who had also come to the site with the intimation from the airport manager, administered first aid treatment to the passenger. However, as the passenger did not respond, the doctors attending pronounced him dead.
The deceased was thereafter taken to the Hospicio Hospital, Margao on from his wife who accompanied by him during the journey. It has been learnt that the deceased has some relatives staying in Margao, where his wife preferred to take the mortal remains from Hospicio Hospital.
