No Regional Parties In LS ElectionsTHERE is a plethora of regional parties in India. The influence of a regional party is generally limited to a particular state and during the general election these regional outfits concentrate on their home states and try to win as many seats as possible, by any means. If they get some two-digit number of seats, they bully and blackmail the central government for the next five years. Then they are independents that make a mockery of the parliamentary system of democracy by becoming ‘Aaya Raams’ and ‘Gaya Raams’. Therefore, there is a need to debar regional parties from contesting the Lok Sabha elections. On the basis of the number of votes a party got in the last general election, two or three political parties that secured maximum number of votes must be allowed to field candidates for the general election. The regional parties, however, may participate in the state elections.

Cricket Team Lacks Consistency
CONSISTENCY is the foundation of virtue. Ask the Indian cricket wall, Mr Rahul Dravid and I am sure he will agree. How can India win the first test and play to loose in a suicidal manner in the first innings of the second test? That the highly rated Indian cricket team lacks consistency is evident in all their games and they should work towards improving their dependability.

Orchestration for Communal Gains
INDIA today is all about deviant behaviour that is often attempted to be made ‘de rigueur’ for our society. Take the example of Mr Varun Gandhi’s speech with communal overtones which when the Election Commission attempted to pull him up, he and his cohorts tried to turn the tables on the EC by accusing them of bias and asking them to prove that the CD sent to them covering his speech was doctored. The EC promptly asked Mr Varun Gandhi that the onus of proving that the CD was doctored rested with him and not them. Within the BJP though in the initial instance, Mr Varun Gandhi’s speech was met with some amount of distaste, the party has now rallied together supporting his indiscretions. Thus what was initially wrong in this incident is being made the norm by the needless bullying of the authorities and for political gains in the upcoming elections by the BJP. The situation is further compounded now by Mr Varun Gandhi surrendering to the police in Pilibhit where some 45 innocent persons were unnecessarily hurt and there are now clear indications that the whole issue is being orchestrated for communal gains by the accusation that a policeman of a minority community is responsible for hurting the demonstrators. What is all this being done for? To make Mr Varun Gandhi win in his debut Lok Sabha poll and launch his political career?

On Subway At GMC
I WOULD like to know if the new subway near GMC has a system in place to prevent the rain water that might descend down the steps and cause casualities. I would also like to suggest provision of bins for collection of waste at multiple locations inside the subway. The sweepers should be made to direct the people towards the bins provided. Also a mechanism should be found to prevent the entry of dogs/cattle in the subway. Solar panels should be fitted for their cost effective power supply. But it’s only after the gaps on the highway road divider are closed completely, that one can expect the public to fully utilise the subway.
