Boy killed in accident at Colvale

MAPUSA- A 5-year-old boy, Shivlal Chowdhary was killed in a mishap at Colvale.
According to the Mapusa police, the father of the deceased sells sugarcane juice at a stall in Colvale. Saturday evening a vehicle stopped in front of his stall and he went to give juice to the vehicle inmates. His minor son also followed him without his knowledge. Unfortunately the child was hit by a speeding unknown vehicle, which fled the scene after the mishap. Though the boy was rushed to the Asilo Hospital, he was declared brought dead.
Meanwhile, in another incident reported at Maddel Tivim, a mother-son duo was seriously injured after their pulsar dashed against an oncoming Maruti Zen car.
According to the police, Sunday afternoon the mother and son, namely Mr Vishwanath Vaingankar and Ms Kamlavati were travelling on a pulsar with registration number GA-03 B-3258 towards Mapusa. On reaching Tivim they were hit by a Maruti Zen car with registration number GA-06 A-1412 which was coming in the opposite  direction. Both of them sustained serious injuries and were immediately rushed to the Asilo Hospital. From there they were shifted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim. Mapusa police are investigating further.
