PANAJI- Opposition leader Mr Manohar Parrikar has been invited by GCCI and IBS (both business bodies) to inaugurate a national seminar themed: `Financial Tsunami’- and its impact on the Indian Economy, on January 8 at the GCCI Convention Hall, Panaji. The seminar will discuss and debate on the meltdown, which has led to shock waves across the world, with economy after economy grasping for breath to survive this financial tsunami, a GCCI press release said.
The financial market crisis has led to the collapse of major financial institutions and is now beginning toimpact the real economy in the advanced economies. As this crisis is unfolding, credit markets appear to be drying up in the developed world. With hope, The Union Finance Minister had maintained that India will not be affected by the recession but the fact remains that Indian Inc are getting hit by this slump worldwide. With the substantive increase in financial globalisation, how much will these developments affect India?
