MARGAO- Entire police staff of South Goa district was kept on their toes on Tuesday evening for over an hour following an exercise to track a car, which was learnt to have left from Panaji.
A police officer from South Goa said that it was a mock drill and all the officers of the police station took position and made efforts to locate the vehicle. The police department had given the description of the vehicle based on that it was identified at Zuarinagar, Nuvem and Ambaji near Fatorda.
The in-charge of the police stations and their subordinate staff were engaged in the task of conducting nakabandi to trace the car. This is being done on the backdrop of terrorist attack.
Police officers who participated in this exercise said that such calls were given in between and based on the number plate or the description, police who take position has to conduct the verifications of the vehicles.
The South Goa police have decided to take all measures and keep police force on its toes to take care of any untoward incident. Police had stepped up patrolling throughout the city covering important junctions as well as five-star hotels in coastal belts. Strict vigil has been kept in and around vital installations like airports, railway stations, bus stands, hotels, guest houses, government offices, industrial units and pilgrim centre in South Goa.
