PANAJI- The Tourism Minister, Mr Francisco Pacheco on Tuesday denied all the allegations, including the one of bigamy, made by his estranged wife, Ms Sara Pacheco.
“I am not married to Ms Viola,” he said and added that he had also not forged any signature on any document.
“As Sarah refused to sign the sale deed, I returned the money to the buyer and the flats are still with me,” he argued and alleged that it was a political conspiracy hatched by Mr Churchill Alemao, while speaking at a press conference in the city on Tuesday.
“I have not done anything wrong,” he said and added, “Let the police investigate. I will not pressurise them, but let them find out the truth.”
It may be recalled that the Quepem police had recently registered a case against Mr Pacheco for allegedly forging his wife’s signature for selling a car. Subsequently, Ms Sara had filed another complaint stating that he had also forged her signature while selling some flats in Betalbatim.
Claiming that Mr Pacheco had entered into an agreement with one Basilio Methodio Diniz on October 17, 2004, to sell the flats at Fransa House, Betalbatim, she alleged that on going through the agreement, she noticed that her signature had been allegedly forged “at item No 2 of page 5 of the agreement of sale,” and denied having entered into the said agreement.
The document also has the signature as witnesses of the OSD to the minister, Mr Lyndon Monteiro and one Mr George S Fernandes, she also alleged. Replying to the allegation, Mr Monteiro has said: “he was in the process of taking legal action against her.
