Kolwalkar Clinic opens in Mapusa

PANAJI- Dr Kolwalkar’s Clinic at Riturai Plaza, behind Bank of India, Mapusa, will be inaugurated today by Dr Ravish Kolwalkar (orthopedic surgeon) and Dr Lairai Kolwalkar (skin specialist). Dr. Kolwalkar served as a senior resident doctor for three years and as an consultant for four years from 2003- 07 in Department of Orthopedics, Goa Medical College where he performed various surgeries on accident and specialized in pelvis (paingot) and hip socket (acetabulum) fractures.
He was trained at Paris, France and in Toronto, Canada by Professor Matta and Professor Marvin Tile, respectively. He was awarded Pelvi - acetabular fellowship in 2006 at Vanderbilt Trauma Center in Tennessee U.S.A by Professor Philip Kregor.
He was also awarded the Advanced Spine fellowship in 2007 at Mumbai by Professor P.S Ramani.
Pelvi - acetabular surgery is a specialized surgery which currently treated in few centers in India and he is the only doctor in Goa specialized in this. He is currenty attached to Vrundavan Hospital, Calangute and Mapusa and Sankalp Hospital, Mapusa .
