'Loving' Deceit

Anil-Olga productions’ new venture titled ‘Eka Goynkaracho Xevott’, recounts the tale of a Goan who is destroyed due to the love affair of his only daughter.
Thelma and Borges have an only daughter Jasmine, The girl is loved and pampered by the father while the poor mother tries to inculcate some discipline into the girl’s life. The girl, instead of loving and caring for her parents, falls in love with a migrant named Raja. The lover has tied Jasmine round his little finger and manipulates her in such a way that he succeeds in taking over the house of Borges. How he does it and the final outcome has to be watched in this engrossing entertainer that serves as an eye opener to young girls, who fall in love too soon, without even thinking of the consequences.
The presentation has a fine script and the director manages to get fine performances from the cast. Olga is Thelma, a beautiful act of the loving and worried mother. Bushka plays the spoilt daughter quite well. Wish she would pay more attention to her sense of dressing; Anil Pednekar is wonderful as Borges, especially in the scenes portraying helplessness. Ignatius de Xelvon plays Raja to the hilt, literally living the role with his accent, dressing and overall performance. Sally, Neto and Inacio provide lots of humour to keep the audience in good spirit.
Aldair performs the opening song. In between the acts there are songs by Olga, Bushka, Young Chico, Anthony Jr, Chico, Ignatius de Xelvon and others.
A fine play with a good message. Don’t miss it !!!
