PANAJI — The Minister for Education and Technical Education, Mr Atanasio Monserrate said on Thursday that he would provide quality computers with advanced technology to students under the Cyberage scheme of the government as the new generation is in need of technical education, especially education in information technology.
Speaking to ‘The Navhind Times’, Mr Monserrate said that the field of information technology is one of the areas, which can provide ample job opportunities to the IT students and the education system should not overlook this fact.
“In fact, some of the students from my constituency had complained to me about the quality of the computers provided to them under the Cyberage scheme,” Mr Monserrate said, adding, “Though I am yet to take the charge of my departments, I am of the opinion that if sub-standard things are provided by the government to the people, especially children who are the future of the country, it would reflect badly on the government.” “I will definitely be looking into such complaints, and try to provide best of the computers to the students,” he assured.
